Zane's Photographs

Portland's "Great Train Expo" on February 14th, 2009

The non-Z Scale layouts at the Expo. The Z Scale photos can be found in thier own gallery.

This year I was trying out shooting handheld with my 35mm f/2 and 50mm f/1.8 lenses using only available light, rather than a flash. The result is a very shallow depth of field, but a better overall look for the pictures. This does result in two problems, one is that the trains tend to blur as they zoom by, and it is hard to hold the camera still enough.
