Zane's Photographs

Z Scale at Portland's "Great Train Expo" on February 14th, 2009

The "Cascade Z Modelers" and "Southern Oregon Model Engineers" had seperate layouts this year. The rest of my photo's from the Expo can be seen in thier own gallery.

This year I was trying out shooting handheld with my 35mm f/2 and 50mm f/1.8 lenses using only available light, rather than a flash. The result is a very shallow depth of field, but a better overall look for the pictures. This does result in two problems, one is that the trains tend to blur as they zoom by, and it is hard to hold the camera still enough.

I'm not sure whose modules made up this end segment for the Southern Oregon layout, but both are excellent with all of the buildings and structures on them.
