This was the first Macintosh to be based upon the Motorola 68030 processor. So what if it can't run System 8, everything I want to do with mine can be done running System 7.0.1, and it is fast! This is one of my favorite two machines and I primarily use it for writting. My SE/30 still has the basic 40Mb Hard Drive in it (I don't need any more), but I've added an SCSI to Ethernet converter that allows me to transfer files and print over my network. It also has a Video card in it, but I've only used it once to verify that it works. I've exchanged it's keyboard with the one from my Apple IIgs, because I wanted the smallest keyboard possible on it. On the same note I got it with 32Mb of RAM, and downgraded it to 17MG, which is way more than it needs, the extra 16Mb went into the Mac IIcx.
