The Fourth model in the Macintosh line, this is the first system to use an ADB Keyboard and mouse. It was possible to get a model without the Hard Drive for less money, and that version included a extra Floppy Drive. Some of the later models had a SuperDrive (1.44Mb) Floppy Drive instead of the 800k floppy, with the proper software these models are capable of reading and writting Macintosh, ProDos, and MS-DOS formated floppies. This was the first of the Compact Macs to include a PDS (Processor Direct Slot) which could be used for such things as Video Cards for external Monitors or Ethernet cards.
