IMSAI 8080

Date Introduced: 1977 ?
Original Cost: ????
Date Discontinued: ????
Base Memory: 4k
Offline Storage: None
Display: None
Processor: Intel 8080A

This is an S-100 based system, and is pretty much a clone of the Altair 8800. It features an 100-pin expansion bus, which is where term S-100 came from. The number of slots depended on how much the purchaser wanted to spend, I have the 22 slot bus.

In it's stock configuration it consists of a front panel with LED's, switches, a processor card, and 4k of RAM. Through the use of cards you can add terminals, more memory, tape readers (paper and magnetic), different processors, etc. So far all I have is the basic unit, and a 64k memory expansion card.

It is capable of running various OS's, but the primary is CP/M.
